Vetonit SBR is a ready-to-use white liquid based on modified styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) latex. It is added to site-mixed cement mortars, renders, screeds and slurries to make them stronger, more cohesive and water-resistant, and it is also brushed on as a primer to seal the surface and improve the bond of plasters and repair mortars. Because it resists hydrolysis it can be used both inside and outside the building wherever it is combined with cement. It bonds well to concrete, masonry, stonework, plaster and block walls, and is used to bond new concrete to old. Where to use it: • Producing high-strength, waterproof renders, screeds, cement slurries and mortars • Enhancing cementitious mixes such as plasters, tile adhesives and screeds • As a primer and surface sealer for plasters and repair mortars • Improving the resistance of cementitious mixes to freeze/thaw cycles • Bonding old concrete to new concrete • Priming gypsum board before installing cementitious tile adhesive Important: • Not a waterproofing membrane on its own — it is an admixture and primer that improves cement mixes, not a standalone tanking or waterproofing layer • Not for permanent water immersion — for swimming pools and water tanks use a dedicated Saveto waterproofing system • Not approved for drinking-water tanks
