Mappysil CR 400 is an Italian-made acoustic insulation panel from Mappy Italia, built as a sandwich: two layers of 100% thermally bonded recycled polyester fibre with a heavy, flexible high-density elastomeric barrier in the middle. The fibre layers decouple the heavy barrier from the noise source, so one panel does three jobs at once — absorbs sound, blocks sound transmission, and insulates thermally. It is designed to go hidden inside the build-up: pushed into masonry cavities, slotted between the metal studs of drywall partitions (gypsum board, wood, magnesite), or laid over and fixed onto false ceilings. It is flexible, cuts with a utility knife, is moisture-resistant, non-irritating to the skin (no protective gear needed to install), and is also offered in a self-adhesive version. Panel joints are taped with Mappytape TXT to avoid acoustic bridges. It was used on walls and ceilings at Limestone House in Dubai and the UniCredit Tower in Milan. Where to use it: • Inside gypsum board / drywall partitions, slotted between the metal studs • Inside masonry cavity walls (double-leaf blockwork) • Laid over or fixed onto false ceilings and suspended ceilings • Cutting sound transfer between rooms, apartments and offices • Reducing AHU / FAHU plant noise coming through false ceilings • Thermal and acoustic insulation in one single board, so a thinner build-up and one installation step • Soundproofing machinery and workshop areas (Mappy's industry version of the same panel) Important: • Not for floors or under-screed footfall insulation — use Polistik/M Underspecial HQ for that • Not for wrapping pipes or drainage stacks — use Mappysil CR 404 • Indoor use only, and it sits concealed inside the wall or ceiling build-up rather than as a visible finish
